Happy Spring! Not sure how that happened so quickly, but for those of us who endured the Winter snowstorms here in the Gorge, we’re not complaining. We hope you’re enjoying our 2024 Giveaways as much as we are, and we have so much more in store for you as the year progresses. With so many amazing Downtown businesses here in White Salmon willing to participate, you have the opportunity to win some amazing prizes.

We so appreciate your engagement with our social media page and website and we love chatting with our local small business owners to learn more about them and what they do. We’re always curious as to what led them to settle here in beautiful White Salmon, where diversity is celebrated and talented artists abound! We are blessed with one-of-a-kind gift shops, amazing food, wine and craft brew, and a host of wellness professionals right in the heart of Downtown!
Here on our Explore White Salmon website and social media pages, we aim to focus on our immediate and nearby surrounding communities to promote and bring attention to these small businesses while striving toward an emphasis on sustainable tourism and do our best to keep you in the loop on upcoming events and happenings in and around White Salmon!
HOW IT WORKS
We will partner with a local business in Downtown White Salmon at the beginning of each month. Each business owner will decide what they would like to donate. We will then highlight the details on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

We asked Ralph to tell us a little about himself and what he does..
“I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and moved to the United States at the age of 15. I was always drawn to the visual arts and its ability to convey beauty. This fascination led me to the realm of photography, where I discovered my true passion. Over the years, I’ve called various places home, but it wasn’t until I settled in the Pacific Northwest 15 years ago that I truly found my heart’s desire. All I knew about the PNW was its reputation for rain, but what I discovered was a breathtaking landscape unlike anything I’d ever seen before. Lush greens, snowy mountains, cascading waterfalls, and endless opportunities for outdoor exploration. Immersing myself in nature, I found a healing space and boundless inspiration.
Ten years ago I embarked on a journey to capture the magic and wonder of the great outdoors, combining my passion for photography with newfound mountaineering skills. This pursuit led me to White Salmon, where I found the perfect backdrop for my artistic expression.
My work is a tribute to the wild outdoors. A call to celebrate, cherish, and protect these natural sanctuaries. My photographic journey is about chasing glimmers of fleeting beauty and timeless vistas to bring you the magic and wonder of the great outdoors.”
Each of Ralph’s prints are individually hand-crafted using 100% cotton based papers, mats, and fine art materials in his home studio in White Salmon.
Ralph will be hosting an Open Studio on April 26, 27, and 28 during the Gorge Artists Open Studios weekend, where you can learn about his photographic process.
