White Salmon Base Camp for Fun in the Snow
On a clear, beautiful winter day, downtown White Salmon is filled with vehicles adorned with snow bikes, snowmobiles, cross-country skis, and white water kayaks. White Salmon is your base camp for fun in the snow!
Just 30 minutes north of White Salmon is 154 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, 10 miles of groomed ski trails, and endless miles of snow for snowshoeing adventures. Get ready for trails leading to remote forest lakes, high-mountain elevations, and some of the most spectacular wilderness!
The Atkisson Sno-park is one of our most popular parking areas as it features a warming hut with a wood stove, restroom, and parking capacity for 30 vehicles. The Atkisson Sno-park is also great for starting your Guler ice cave exploration. You can even snowshoe in to spend the night at the Peterson Prairie Cabin. The Peterson Prairie Cabin is open for weekend reservations with a 3-night minimum stay. Or book a room in White Salmon for all the comforts, including Everybody’s Brewing, White Salmon Baking Co, Pixan, and more!
After exploring White Salmon’s backyard to the North, and if you still want more snow, we got you covered 30 miles to the south at Mount Hood Meadows! Mount Hood Meadows offers more than 2,150 acres of skiing and snowboarding.
