Join us at the Wildflower Summit on May 26th from 5:00 – 9:00 as we celebrate the last weekend of the White Salmon Wildflower Festival– FOREVER WILD!

The Wildflower Summit features speakers, a silent auction, local wine/beer/cider, live music, dancing, and a chance to meet the non-profits uniting to advance the appreciation of wildflowers and the natural beauty surrounding White Salmon.  100% of proceeds from the Wildflower Summit support CultureSeed. CultureSeed provides year-round connection to nature, self, and others, for youth and communities to thrive.

Admission is FREE.  Tickets available for local craft beer, wine, and cider tastings.

SCHEDULE

•  5:00 Doors Open, Silent Auction Begins, Meet & Greet Tables, Local Beer by Ferment and Everybody’s, Wine by Domaine Pouillon, and Cider tastings by Raw Cider.  Fresh Tamales, and the Farm Tool Library Open House.
• 5:30 Seed Starting with Seed Blocks at the UCD Tool Library (behind the Mt View Grange)
• 6:00-7:00 Authors of The Pacific Northwest Native Plant Primer, Kristin Currin and Andrew Merritt, will present with a Q&A. Book signing following.
• 7:00-7:30 Join Brian Chambers, an award-winning landscape photographer, for an inspiring 30-minute presentation. Brian will be showing off some of his favorite images from the Columbia River Gorge featuring the spectacular wildflowers, stunning vistas, and captivating light.
• 5-9: Live music throughout the evening with Richard & Tova Tillinghast, Kyle Glenn, and Sploob
• 9:00 Silent Auction Winners Announced

Ferment and Everybody’s is donating local craft beer, Domaine Poullion is donating wine, and local cider tastings are by RAW Cider Co.  You will have the opportunity to purchase bottles of RAW Cider to take home.

RAW Cider Co. launched its first products in the Spring of 2022. Named Best New Cidery of 2022 by the Northwest Cider Association, RAW Cider focuses on traditional French and English cider and perry-making techniques. The fruit is locally grown or sourced from small family orchards dedicated to growing cider-specific fruit.

Kayla Marean of Wayward Wine will be volunteering to pour your wine and craft beer.  Kayla teaches wine classes in addition to her wine club!

RAW Cider Experience – Value $200

Experience 10 acres of old-growth pear trees with a gorgeous view of Mt Hood with RAW Cider Co. cidermaker and orchardist Levi Danielson.

Your visit includes two glasses of cider and perry for each of you and your guest, a bottle of cider to take home, and a guided stroll through our 50-year-old pear orchard. Learn about our sustainable orcharding practices, the ins and outs of traditional cider and perry making, the pears we grow, future plans for the orchard, and anything else on our minds.

While in the orchard, sample pears (in season), smell the lavender on the property’s small lavender field, listen to bees hum through the pear blossoms, and catch fleeting glimpses of the ravens, woodpeckers and other bird species who frequent the orchard.

This orchard focuses on growing pears for making perry, the traditional drink of fermented pear juice. We are collecting and cultivating perry pear varieties and introducing them to our established orchard through grafting. Perry-specific trees are rare even in the largest pear-growing region in the United States. We are more than a little excited to be growing perry pears that will become top-quality perry here in the Columbia Gorge! Growing pears is no small endeavor, and we’re happy to share our progress and vision for the future with you.

Experience a private wine class with you and your friends (up to six people)! We’ll taste six wines together- a selection entirely curated to your interests so we can learn in a casual and fun atmosphere. We’ll practice identifying tasting notes, learn about how wine-making techniques impact flavor, and, most importantly, enjoy good wine and food with friends.
