SkateSpace White Salmon: A New Hub for Skateboarding & Community Opens This Summer
White Salmon is about to get a serious upgrade for skateboarders of all ages and abilities. SkateSpace, the town’s first indoor skatepark, is set to open this summer in the former brewhouse of Everybody’s Brewing, bringing year-round skating, coaching, camps, and community events to the Columbia River Gorge. With summer skate camps kicking off in June, this space will offer young skaters a place to learn new tricks, build confidence, and connect with others—rain or shine.
More Than a Skatepark: A Space for Growth
At SkateSpace, a skateboard is more than just a piece of wood and wheels—it’s a tool for learning resilience, overcoming fear, and pushing personal limits. Whether it’s dropping into a bowl for the first time, landing a long-awaited trick, or simply cheering on a friend, SkateSpace fosters an environment where progress, not perfection, is the goal. With a focus on inclusivity and skill-building, the park will offer after-school programs, coaching, open skate sessions, and workshops for skaters of all levels.
Join the Movement: Summer Skate Camps & Fundraising
Registration is now open for 2025 Summer Skate Camp, welcoming skaters ages 8-15 of all skill levels. Each day, campers will meet at SkateSpace before heading out in a 15-passenger van to explore multiple skateparks across the Columbia Gorge, returning by 3 PM. To make this vision sustainable, SkateSpace is raising $50,000 to cover essential startup costs, including ramp building, licensing, insurance, and facility improvements. Additional funds will go toward securing a van to expand program access. You can help by donating, purchasing a SkateSpace t-shirt, becoming a corporate sponsor, or simply spreading the word. Plus, get a sneak peek at what’s to come at our open houses every weekend during the White Salmon Wildflower Festival.
As we build this new skate community, we’re inviting everyone—skaters, parents, and supporters—to help make SkateSpace a long-term success. Whether you’re grinding, dropping in, or just cheering from the sidelines, this is a place to grow, learn, and have fun. Stay updated, register for camp, or support the cause by visiting our GoFundMe page. Let’s roll into this next chapter together!
