Learn to kitesurf while visiting White Salmon! We feel the sandbar just 10 miles east of White Salmon is one of  the best spots in the Columbia River Gorge to learn to kiteboard, and it’s home to our shop which overlooks the wild and scenic Klickitat River!

When you kitesurf with us, you will experience some of the best, most consistent winds the Gorge has to offer, not to mention, warm shallow water, wide open spaces for riding, fewer crowds, and a huge sandbar for setting up your kite.

The sandbar is located on the Washington (north) side of the Columbia River where the Klickitat River flows into the Columbia. Not only are the conditions at this spot perfect for beginners, but the sandbar is surrounded by breathtaking views of the famous Columbia River Gorge. Get ready to experience the heart of the River in the shallow waters of the north shores most treasured feature!

SA Kitesurf Adventures (SAK) was founded in 2013 in Cape Town, South Africa, and in 2015 SAK opened a kiteboarding school in Lyle, Washington and two year later opened a third location in St. Petersburg, Florida. SAK is one of only two International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) affiliated schools in the Columbia River Gorge and St. Petersburg, FL.
