Golden hillsides, fresh mountain air, and a trail Golden hillsides, fresh mountain air, and a trail that somehow keeps getting more breathtaking around every bend 🌼

Spring in the Gorge is showing off, and Dog Mountain is one of the season’s brightest stars. Balsamroot blooms are painting the hillsides gold, the river is sparkling below, and every switchback comes with a reward worthy of a postcard.

Whether you’re here for the wildflowers, the challenge, or just an excuse to soak up a little sunshine, this is the time to hit the trail and experience spring at full volume.

Turn your hike into a full Gorge getaway and stay awhile in White Salmon or Bingen 🍷☕🏔️ Spend the weekend exploring local shops, grabbing a post-hike meal, sipping wine, and soaking in all the small-town charm waiting just down the hill from the trail.

A few friendly reminders before you lace up—
🥾 Wear sturdy shoes
💧 Bring plenty of water
🌼 Stay on trail and protect the blooms
🐶 Keep pups leashed and trail-ready

Fresh fades, sharp scissors, and a deep-rooted Gor Fresh fades, sharp scissors, and a deep-rooted Gorge connection ✂️

Meet Gage, the newest barber @goodfellowswhitesalmon in downtown White Salmon. Born and raised in the Gorge, Gage brings a thoughtful approach to classic men’s cuts, salon-style scissor work, and the kind of easy conversation that makes a barber chair feel like a familiar front porch.

A graduate of Gorge Academy of Cosmetology, his background blends barbering with salon and spa training, plus a few unexpected side quests—running a sharpening business, playing music, and tending chickens somewhere between hair appointments and hatchlings 🐓🎸

And if you ask him his favorite service? The hair wash, which he says is "chronically underrated.”

Next time you’re strolling downtown White Salmon, stop in and say hello to one of the Gorge’s newest faces behind the chair!
