Nights in White Salmon: A Magical Evening in the Columbia River Gorge

Nestled in the heart of the scenic Columbia River Gorge, the charming town of White Salmon, Washington, offers a unique experience that combines natural beauty, community spirit, arts, and entertainment. “Nights in White Salmon” is an event that captures the essence of this vibrant small mountain town, offering visitors and locals alike an unforgettable evening.

“Nights in White Salmon” is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of the community, culture, and natural splendor that define White Salmon. Held on the Third Thursday throughout the summer and fall, this event transforms our mountain town into a lively hub of activity, attracting families, friends, and visitors from all over the Gorge and the PNW.

Live Music, Live Painting, Performances & Fun
The event features a lineup of talented local musicians and artists, providing a diverse range of entertainment. For the kick-off Nights in White Salmon on June 20th, 2024, Richard and Tova Tillinghast will perform from 5-7, and Sam Humans will perform from 7-9.  Blackbird + Ivory is featuring Debbie Lynn’s live painting session.  Marcel Goods is featuring a live painting session by Ian Jones. You will find April Donovan painting in the heart of the downtown market, and Molly Holmlund will be at Conscious Nectar to facilitate a community botanical ink painting from 6 – 8pm.  Tru Design is featuring cornhole out front, refreshments, and featuring a CopperDot Leather pop-up!

Makers Market Throughout Downtown
A highlight of “Nights in White Salmon” is the makers market, where local craftspeople and artists showcase their handmade goods. Visitors can stroll downtown White Salmon and into our businesses and find unique jewelry, pottery, textiles, and artwork, finding one-of-a-kind treasures to take home.

Food and Drink
Foodies will delight in the variety of culinary offerings available in downtown White Salmon. Our restaurants serve delicious dishes, from gourmet burgers and tacos to fresh salads and sweet treats. Everybody’s Brewing offers 20% off merchandise and 10% off hand-crafted coolers by Immersion Research and Ceramics by Little Bloom Ceramics.  And be sure to get a table for tasty, fresh beers and the best brewery food in the PNW!  Love wine?  Stop at one of our four tasting rooms for a glass of locally made wine!  Check out Gander and Goose for an expertly made wildcrafted botanical cocktail!

Attending “Nights in White Salmon” is also a wonderful way to support local businesses. By purchasing goods and services at the event, visitors contribute to the sustainability and growth of White Salmon’s vibrant local culture.  Each artist is donating an item for a Silent Auction.  Proceeds from the silent auction will be directed to the Arts & Music programs by the White Salmon Valley Education Foundation.

With the Columbia River Gorge as an extended classroom, Heartsong encourages kids to explore, create and learn through the rhythms of the seasons and the world around them.

We caught up with founder Stephanie Seliga-Soulseed to learn more about the inspiration behind Heartsong, its connection to the White Salmon community and what makes this local program so unique.

SOMETHING CURIOUS IS COMING TO WHITE SALMON… This SOMETHING CURIOUS IS COMING TO WHITE SALMON…

This Halloween, the White Salmon Masonic Hall is transforming into the MASONIC CASTLE OF CURIOSITIES, an interactive Halloween experience filled with strange scenes, curious characters and plenty of surprises behind its doors.

But before the Castle can open… it needs a crew. 👀

VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

🔨 SCENE BUILDERS + SETUP CREW
Help transform the Masonic Hall with sets, props, decorations and all the wonderfully weird details that will bring the Castle to life. Creative minds are welcome, but no artistic experience is required!

🎭 CHARACTERS + ACTORS
Step inside the story. Dress up, play a character and help bring the Castle’s scenes to life during the event.

🧹 CASTLE CLEANUP CREW
Once the final guests have escaped… errr, left… help transform the Castle back into the perfectly respectable Masonic Hall everyone remembers.

Volunteer for one part or all three. Even a couple of hours can make a huge difference.

Teens, adults, families, theater folks, builders, decorators and anyone who wants to be part of something ridiculously fun for our community are encouraged to join in.

Our final NIGHTS IN WHITE SALMON of the season is Our final NIGHTS IN WHITE SALMON of the season is happening this Thursday, September 17, from 5–9 PM, and we’re sending the season out with plenty of groove!

Roux Dio takes the stage from 5:30–7:30 PM in front of Kula Chiropractic!

This five-piece band serves up an irresistible blend of funk, roots, swamp-boogie and Americana rock, mixing deep grooves, soulful originals, country twang, blues and high-energy jam rock. In their words: it’s the sauce 😎

Come downtown, wander through White Salmon, support local businesses and artisans, grab something delicious to eat or drink and catch the music!
