Meet Local Artist Mattea Schwab
You may have noticed the beautiful chanterelle and wildflower illustrations on the windows at Arrowleaf. The artwork is by local artist Mattea Schwab of OSO&CO Creative. Mattea is an illustrator, designer, and nature enthusiast born and raised here in the Columbia River Gorge.
Connection to Beauty in the Columbia River Gorge
Mattea has always had a deep connection to the beauty surrounding her home; rivers, mountains, and all that lie between, including wildflowers. We couldn’t think of the more perfect person to design the White Salmon Wine Walk logo, which is a White Salmon Wildflower Festival event, to help raise funds for a downtown White Salmon beautification project.
Mattea pulls much of her inspiration from the nature around her; you will often see her incorporating organic elements like plants, flowers, mushrooms, and animals in her work to connect the art back to the surrounding nature.
Mattea enjoys collaborating with other local artists, creatives, and businesses where she can share the connection to the area in her work. Currently residing in White Salmon, WA, she works as a full-time Artist/Designer and looks forward to continuing to expand her creative network & grow her small design business OSO&CO Creative.
“Working on the Wine Walk project was such a pleasure! I am always so grateful to work with local businesses on creative projects like this one. It is always so special to see my work showcased here in my hometown, especially for an event like the Wine Walk that supports the businesses & winemakers that I love so much!” – Mattea Schwab
