Come dressed to be outside and ready to explore the wildflowers of White Salmon’s beautiful Jewett Creek with educator and writer Ashley Erdely! This workshop will educate and enforce the importance of how to enjoy being in nature while also practicing Leave No Trace ethics and being a good steward of the land. Participants will enjoy learning about the wildflowers through observation, nature sketching, and a scavenger hunt. Furthermore, every participant will “adopt” and become an expert on one wildflower species, making them the ideal person to lead friends and family members on future return visits! All workshop participants will go home with their very own Private Eye® exploration loupe, a local wildflower guide to Jewett Creek, wildflower seeds for pollinators, and more!

Ashley Erdely is a professional educator, devoted parent, and nature enthusiast. She is currently working on the first guidebook in a new series, Meet the Wildflowers: A Young Naturalist’s Guide to the Pacific Northwest.
As an educator, she knows that learning needs to be engaging, hands-on, and give children the steering wheel in making their own discoveries. The book is written with a lead-from-behind intention, scattering bread crumbs of scientific data, and interesting facts for the reader to discover and explore.
Ashley loves spending time in the outdoors with family and friends and leading wildflower workshops for kids!
