Le Doubblé Troubblé Clubhouse Dinners Return!
Christopher Stiffler and McIntosh Forrence, both equally passionate about good wine and deep powder, met while chasing the great wine and incredible snow. Lucky for us, they have landed in White Salmon, where wine and skiing meet. In 2018, Le Doubblé Troubblé Clubhouse (tasting room) opened for business and is now a favorite local hangout. “We like to think that our tasting room is very homey with comfy couch spots to hang out in or belly up to the bar. It also has an open kitchen style that adds to the homey vibe. We leaned into the ski theme for décor, with lots of old skis and ski art around the place. We want to be a warm, inviting, and relaxing place, and I think we nailed it,” says Christopher. We couldn’t agree more, and neither can this recent reviewer on Facebook:
Owners were extremely nice and welcoming. The wine was delicious, and the label artwork is awesome. Probably the only wine tasting room I’ve ever experienced that has doubled as a local hangout.
Clubhouse Dinner
Christopher and McIntosh are excited to start hosting events at the Clubhouse again. “We used to create dinners and invite artists in for artists chats, but Covid put a damper on that,” says Christopher. As we approach spring, Le Doubblé Troubblé is announcing their first Clubhouse Dinner for 2022! Chef Hady Coxen will be preparing a Bo Ssam meal on February 25th; a meal meant to fuel and sustain you through long winter projects. “And it’s imperative that adult libations accompany it. Traditionally intended to ensure workers made lots and lots of kimchi, your only obligation will be to eat it – and maybe shovel some more snow in a few weeks,” says Christopher.
Wine Club
Le Doubblé Troubblé offers three wine club releases a year and discounts on wine all year long. Wine club releases of either 3, 6, or 12 bottles happen three times a year (Winter, Spring, and Fall). With membership, you receive up to four free wine tastings per year (for you and up to three guests), 20% off all Le Doubblé Troubblé wine, as well as 10% off all purchases at the Clubhouse in White Salmon. Le Doubblé Troubblé will ship to many states too.
What’s Next
Christopher and McIntosh have exciting news for 2022! They have purchased a property in Lyle and are building out a winery and planning a vineyard. “We will have tastings and events out there in the future, but don’t worry, the Clubhouse is sticking around,” says Christopher.
The most fun part of what they do is meeting new people daily. “As White Salmon grows as a vacation spot, I meet people from farther and farther away, all with their own unique stories of how they found our little town,” says Christopher. He continues, “Our guests enjoy being downtown, within walking distance from most of White Salmon, whether they are stopping in for their first tasting before heading out to check out the Gorge for the rest of the day or their last tasting. We’re also a popular spot for a pre or post-dinner glass of wine and snack.”
It looks like visitors and locals will now have two great ways to experience the incredible wine of Le Doubblé Troubblé!
