Taryn and Colin Mooney envisioned this magic when they purchased 16 forested acres to bring their treehouse dream to life. “The hilly terrain made it challenging for conventional buildings, but we only saw the potential for trails and special spaces built into the canopy. It felt so magical; this had to be the place,” said Taryn.
The Magic Starts at the Driveway
Just 10 minutes from White Salmon, you enter the Klickitat Treehouse forested driveway and you will find yourself slowing down to listen to the birds and take-in the forest.
As the treehouse came into view, we noticed lots of movement and rustling down by the firepit. More than 10 wild turkeys were walking through the firepit area one by one! We breathed in the forest air deeply and took in all the nature surrounding the treehouse. Life has felt stressful and uncertain-this is just what we needed.
Glamping? Nope – 5 Star Luxury
We backpack, camp, and glamp. But we have never had a 5-star experience in the wilderness. The attention to detail, quality, and style surround you. You will find yourself dining with beautifully hand-crafted ceramic dinnerware, sleeping on a locally-made mattress, and relaxing into the softness of high-quality sheets.
With a full kitchen and White Salmon as a base-camp, we had tasty meals. The drawer refrigerator was brilliant and fit our beer from Everybody’s Brewing and take-out from Feast perfectly!
World-Class Recreation Surrounds You
Whether you love to mountain bike, hike, or kite, White Salmon has you covered. Just minutes from the Klickitat Treehouse, we enjoyed miles of flowy mountain biking with beautiful views.
If you are feeling chill, the hikes around the treehouse property are perfect!

The Klickitat Treehouse started taking reservations on March 24th, and Taryn & Colin are already Superhosts on Airbnb with a 4.98 rating at 44 reviews. With almost every weekend booked for 2020, reserve your vacation now for 2021. Or, grab a couple of midweek openings for this fall.

You can tell this treehouse is a work of art and love. If you are looking to feel nature, you will.
The air inside and outside is so wonderful to breathe. The space is very inspiring for reflection and for helping you to focus on what is important. It’s remote enough that you can stay put and explore and not interact with anyone else, but close enough to White Salmon and Hood River if you are anxious to get out an interact.
Staying at this treehouse was like a dream. Waking up to the view of Mt. Adams and the wildlife all around us brought us so much joy and peace. We loved the interior design and the quality of all the furniture and appliances. This was a romantic getaway and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect, unique experience!
We were instantly charmed by The Klickitat Treehouse! Taryn and Colin have crafted a truly unique experience. To live within and surrounded by the trees is pure magic. We fell asleep to the sounds of the forest and woke to a picturesque view of Mt. Adams out our window. We were happy to spend the entire day cozied up inside, admiring the thoughtfully designed home. Stylish simplicity with the emphasis of nature in mind. The kitchen is curated and equipped with everything you need to cook a great dinner. The open interiors capture the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding forest. Quick communication, clear instructions and great proximity to White Salmon and Hood River. Highly recommend, we will be back!
