Gather By The River: Celebrate, Learn, and Connect with the White Salmon Community

On Saturday, June 7th, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Friends of the White Salmon River invites you to Gather By The River, a community-centered event focused on honoring and protecting the stunning White Salmon River and its surrounding natural habitats. With free refreshments, a short educational talk, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, this gathering is open to everyone who loves the Gorge—locals and visitors alike. (Please bring your own cup!)

This is more than just an afternoon by the river. It’s a critical areas awareness event, highlighting the importance of preserving local streams, wetlands, and wildlife—essential components of a thriving ecosystem. As pressures on our natural areas increase, we need more voices to advocate for the landscapes we love.

Visitors are warmly invited to attend. Sustainable tourism is not just about enjoying beautiful places—it’s about connecting to the communities you visit and finding ways to give back. This event offers a meaningful way to learn about the region, meet local residents, and support ongoing environmental stewardship efforts.

Whether you’re a local resident or a traveler exploring the Gorge, Gather By The River is a chance to deepen your connection to place—and take part in ensuring its protection for generations to come.
