I am a Pacific NW native, born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I have been painting and drawing since I could hold a pencil in my hand. After high school I studied at The Oregon School of Arts and Crafts and I also had the opportunity to study with the renowned Watercolor Artist John Waddingham.
Pursuing a life in the arts was not easy but I had to follow my passion so I headed south (Los Angeles) to further my education in Art. While in art school I worked as a visual display artist for May Co. and I freelanced creating logo designs and artwork for musicians in-and-around the Los Angeles area. I gained my Fine Arts degree from Otis Parsons in 1984 then moved back to Portland Oregon to raise my family.
I eventually moved to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, retired and revived my love of creating with watercolors, pen and ink, and pencil drawings. Nature is the number one inspiration for my art and looking over the Columbia River from my studio, I have a bird’s eye view of just how majestic and beautiful this region is.
I am the proud mother of three and a grandmother of one. My husband and I travel extensively, and are both avid outdoor enthusiasts. We lived in the Caribbean/West Indies for four seasons on our sailboat and now we have a boat in the San Jauns Islandswhere we spend most of the summer island hopping, hiking and exploring.
