Blackbird & Ivory Features Artwork by Debbie Lynn & Sharilyn Ritacca

Blackbird & Ivory Boutique showcases wildflower-themed artwork and photography at the boutique during the White Salmon Wildflower Festival. Join us for a meet-the-artist session on the evening of the White Salmon Wine Walk Saturday, May 13th.  The first 20 visitors with Wine Walk wristbands will receive a gift.

“Aloe vera plants are one of my favorite wild plants,” says Elizabeth Jones-Ferguson, owner of Blackbird & Ivory Boutique.  While it takes four years for the plant to mature and bloom, Elizabeth is fortunate to have one that has bloomed a few times and continues producing dozens of little blooms.  Blackbird & Ivory will display and sell aloe vera plants in various sizes and beautiful ceramics during May.

Blackbird & Ivory also plans to sell other Pacific Northwest women-owned hand-made artisan wild-flower-themed products.

Open Fridays from 1-6 and Saturdays 12-6.

Artist Sharilyn Ritacca

Growing up in rural Southern Oregon, Sharilyn Ritacca developed a passion for wildlife and its rustic habitat. “Photography was a natural fit for me, offering a more intimate proximity to an often-hidden world,” explains Sharilyn.

Her passion for photography was first ignited on a trip with her husband in 2018 to the Wallowa mountains in Eastern Oregon. “The endless offering of stately birds and iconic barns was a photographer’s dream. I was hooked the moment a Western Meadowlark came into focus where I could study and appreciate the details of his rich yellow feathers and dark whimsical bowtie,” says Sharilyn. She has continued to seek and capture the wonder since that spectacular day enthusiastically. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, at the end of the day, she will frequently trade her surgical loupes for a Nikon and telephoto lens and hit the trails in pursuit of the unscripted magic in nature.
