A new way to explore White Salmon is taking root 🌳 A new way to explore White Salmon is taking root 🌳

White Salmon’s trees have stories to tell and a new Tree Walk Map is inviting you to slow down and listen. The White Salmon Tree Board is creating a self-guided walking route through town that highlights notable trees, native species, and the ecological story of the Gorge.

Join the community at TreeFest on March 21, 2026 at Rheingarten Park. This first draft is meant to be collaborative. You can review the route, suggest trees, and help shape the final map.

Our region’s trees do more than add beauty. They support wildlife, protect water quality, and are uniquely adapted to the Columbia River Gorge’s microclimates. This map helps bring that living story to life, one tree at a time.

What the Tree Walk Map will offer 👇🏻
• Tree species identification
• Educational and ecological insights
• A walkable route through town
• An engaging experience for families, visitors, and students

TreeFest also features native plant pickups and sales, partner organizations, music, food, and family-friendly fun. No pre-order required.

Trees take decades to grow, but appreciation starts with a single walk. Come help this new community resource take root and flourish in White Salmon!
