Loop de Loop

At participating wineries and tasting rooms, visitors can enjoy a wine tasting by presenting their current (within 10 days of arrival) in-bound Alaska Airlines boarding pass and proof of membership in the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan. One waived tasting fee is available per boarding pass per winery (holiday weekends and special events are excluded).

Which Washington wineries offer the tasting with my boarding pass?

If you download the new mobile app, Map My WA Wine, which is available on all iOS and Android devices, you can easily search over 1000 wineries, tasting rooms, and vineyards in Washington state! To find which wineries offer free tastings, use the filter tool to search “Alaska Air Promo.”

You can also see any events that are happening around the state or in your area, like which wineries have live music, which wineries have outdoor activities, which wineries have food available and so much more!  The App also allows you to easily build and share itineraries with friends or family, plan that trip you’ve always been wanting to take, and map out the spots you want to visit!

How must the wine be packaged to fly?

The wine must be safely packaged for transport in a protective shipping container (wine shipping box/they are cardboard or styrofoam). The TSA asks containers not be sealed, but remain open for inspection. Shipping boxes are available at many wineries, wine shops and shipping providers such as U-Haul.  It is the responsibility of the Alaska Airlines passenger to be sure the wine is properly packaged for checking as luggage. Advise the Alaska Air Customer Service Agent when you check in so the box can be properly labeled with FRAGILE stickers. Items packaged in cardboard boxes are covered in case of loss, but are checked at your own risk for damage. View Alaska Airlines Checked Baggage Policies for more details.

“Washington is full of talented winemakers and grape growers bursting with energy and excitement. With near-perfect wine growing conditions, world-class wines, and a tight-knit wine community, Washington is simply one of the most exciting wine regions on the planet”. With over 1,000 wineries, more than 400 grape growers, and in excess of 60,000 acres of vines, the only real question is, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO BOOK YOUR STAY AND PLAN YOUR TRIP?
